They are there, behind the scenes, in the mountains, in the forests, in popular services.
But as the history of the Hebrew people advance, especially with the emergence of the figure of the prophets, this war intensifies.
Yahweh is no longer just being worshipped.
He is imposing Himself.
And the prophets, as true spokesmen of this spiritual revolution, begin to attack with strength everything that threatens this exclusivity.
Cults to Baal, for example, are portrayed as spiritual betrayal, sacred adultery.
