Jewish John the Baptist stolen from Anup, baptizer of Horus; both lost their heads.

⚔️ THE CLAIM:
It is claimed that John the Baptist was “stolen” from the Egyptian figure Anup (or Anubis)—supposedly a “baptizer” of Horus—and that both were beheaded.


This claim is popularized in modern Egyptology-influenced occult circles, but collapses under scrutiny through the Sword of the Spirit.


📖 WHO WAS JOHN THE BAPTIST (KJV)?


“For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord...”
 — Matthew 3:3


  • John was a Levite    , born of Zacharias and Elisabeth (Luke 1)


  • Filled with the Holy Ghost from the womb (Luke 1:15)


  • Baptized in the Jordan River as a symbol of repentance (Matt. 3:6)


  • He identified Jesus as the Lamb of God (John 1:29)


  • Was beheaded by Herod, not for ritual, but for calling out sin (Matt. 14)


🏺 WHO IS ANUP (ANUBIS)?


  • Egyptian jackal-headed god of embalming and the dead


  • Overseer of the weighing of the heart in the afterlife


  • Protector of tombs, associated with mummification


  • No direct evidence     he ever “baptized” anyone


The idea of Anubis baptizing Horus is not found in any authentic Egyptian text. This New Age revision emerged post-1800s as part of Freemasonic syncretism and the Blavatsky occult revival.

  1. Anubis was a god    , not a man.
    John the Baptist was a prophet, a man who served the living God.


  2. No ancient texts describe Anubis baptizing Horus.

  3. John’s beheading     was due to his bold preaching of righteousness—not myth or ritual.
