SPIRITUAL WAR ROOM COMPUTER - I am bound under the Blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth in Obedience.

Jewish Matthew was stolen from Thoth.

⚔️ THE CLAIM:
It is alleged by some modern occult writers that Matthew, the Jewish Gospel writer and former tax collector, was “stolen” from the Egyptian god Thoth—the god of writing, wisdom, and record-keeping.

This accusation is part of a broader attempt to reduce the Gospels to "retellings" of pagan myths, but let us try the spirits and expose all falsehood by the Word of God.

📖 WHO WAS MATTHEW? (KJV)

“And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.”
Matthew 9:9

  • Matthew
was a real man, a publican (tax collector) turned apostle

  • Author of the first Gospel in the New Testament

  • His Gospel uniquely emphasizes the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy

  • Presents Jesus as Messiah and King

“The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.”
 — Matthew 1:1

🏺 WHO WAS THOTH?

  • An Egyptian deity, often depicted as an ibis-headed figure

  • Known as the god of writing, wisdom, and the moon

  • Said to be the scribe of the gods, recording judgments

  • Associated with magic, measurement, and secret knowledge

❌ WHY THE CLAIM FAILS

  1. Matthew was a historical figure
    — Thoth is a mythological deity.

  2. Matthew’s Gospel was about Jesus Christ, not magic, cosmic balance, or Egyptian afterlife rituals.

  3. There is no similarity in character, message, life, or purpose between Thoth and Matthew.

  4. Thoth represents pagan gnosis (hidden wisdom); Matthew preaches repentance and revealed truth.

  5. The Gospels declare Christ crucified and risen—this is not present in any Egyptian doctrine.

🔥 SATAN’S STRATEGY

The father of lies seeks to:

  • Reduce the Gospel to myth

  • Blur the line between God’s Word and pagan lore

  • Undermine the authority and historicity of the apostles

  • Promote gnosticism, which the early church called antichrist (1 John 4:3)

“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you… let him be accursed.”
 — Galatians 1:8

✅ VERDICT:

  • Matthew
was a man, a disciple, a Gospel writer—not derived from Thoth

  • Thoth is a pagan symbol of sorcery and secret wisdom—forbidden by God (Deut. 18:10-12)

  • There is no textual, historical, or spiritual connection between them

  • This claim is pure gnostic propaganda, meant to confuse and deceive
