The deception emerged when Zecharia Sitchin, a self-taught linguist without formal training in Sumerian, published The 12th Planet (1976), claiming the Anunnaki were extraterrestrials from Nibiru who genetically engineered mankind as slaves.
This theory has no basis in any legitimate cuneiform translations.
His expertise and work focused on the nature of the spiritual realm in the Bible and about spiritual matters more generally, and he wrote more than ten books on these subjects since 2010.
Scholars fluent in Sumerian, like Dr. Michael Heiser (Ph.D. Hebrew Bible and Semitic Languages), publicly exposed Sitchin’s interpretations as false, stating:
“There’s not a single Sumerian text that says the Anunnaki came from another planet.”
This is the doctrine of devils, warned of in 1 Timothy 4:1 (KJV):
"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;"
This false theology attempts to invert the Word of God by claiming:
Adam was a genetically engineered hybrid
The gods (Anunnaki) are our creators
Satan (Lucifer) is a liberator, not an enemy
It also aligns with the Serpent Seed doctrine, the Prometheus-Lucifer archetype, and ultimately paves the way for Transhumanism and the Beast System of Revelation 13.
